The Longest Art Festival of the World powered by " Muthoot Pappachan Group"

21st September 2012: The Trivandrum chapter of the renowned performance arts & cultural extravaganza - The 365 day Soorya Festival was inaugurated on the September 21 at the door steps of Sree Padmanabha Swami Temple at The Theerthapada Mandapam.

Muthoot Pappachan Foundation, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility supports The Soorya Stage and Film Society to convene the year long Festival at different parts of the country for the next 365 days.

Through the Soorya Festival, MPF felicitated Masters as well as talented performers belonging to the Traditional Art forms, which are now mostly not known to the newer generations. One such event took place at the inaugural ceremony, where 2 young talents were felicitated, Tamas Barco (from Hungary) a visually impaired performer who is an expert in fire jugglery and Samudra who performs a contemporary dance 'Jalam'.

On behalf of Muthoot Pappachan Group, Mr.Vivek Shenoy (Head, Risk Management, MPG) inaugurated the ceremony and also felicitated the artists in the function. Inaugural function was also followed by the performances of Tamas Barco? and Samudra and screening of the opening film "Ozhimuri" (directed by Madhupal).
